How we got started
About your QCA ASA President:
Bob Juarez is a former Davenport firefighter who suffered a spinal cord injury in 2008 after falling off a ladder while fighting a fire. Despite the challenges, he has remained positive and has been actively involved in the community. He helped start Quad City Adaptive Sports Association, an organization that encourages people with disabilities to stay active. He has also been an ambassador for Genesis Health System, advocating for people with disabilities and raising funds for rehabilitation equipment.
Juarez has been involved in adaptive sports, including wheelchair basketball, rowing, tennis and more. He then establish the QCA Adaptive Sports Association, which partnered with the Quad Cities Veterans Outreach Center to create a basketball team called “The Rolling Warriors”. His story has been featured in The Heart of the Story, highlighting his mission to inspire others to stay active and engaged.
